Find the Habits Holding Your Player's Shot Back

A Shot Mechanics Analysis, built on the same system I use with NBA players, shows the habits that might be working against your player's shot the most, so every drill you run targets them instead of being random.

“Shooting mechanics are very specific. It's really hard to coach shooting. That's why we have on our coaching staff Dave Love.”

Stop guessing

Stop Guessing Which Drills to Run

  • See the habits that might be working against your player's shot the most.
  • Choose drills that work on those habits, not generic ones.
  • Run a second analysis a week later and see whether the shot is changing.

How it works

Four Steps to Your Analysis

There's a little setup before the analysis itself, so here's exactly what to expect.

1

Request it below

We'll email you the link to start, so use an email you check. When you create your Toolbox account, you'll get one more email to confirm it.

2

Set up in about 2 minutes

Create your team and add your player in the Toolbox. That's how the analysis knows whose shot it is and saves it to their profile.

3

Film a fresh clip, the right way

The analysis reads the body from one fixed camera angle, so it needs a clip filmed for it:

  • Front view: camera directly on the line between the shooter and the rim, looking straight down it. Or side view: at 90° to that line, on the shooting-hand side.
  • Camera at about chest height and steady (a tripod is best). Vertical is fine.
  • The shooter fills most of the frame, head to feet, with the ball in view. Not a wide gym shot.
  • One shooter, good light, nobody walking in front.
  • Trim it to the 2–3 seconds of the shot.

Old game or practice video usually won't work, because it wasn't filmed from the right angle. The Toolbox shows these steps again, with pictures, right before you film.

4

Mark a few points and get the analysis

The Toolbox walks you through it, then shows the habits that might be working against your player's shot the most. Your video is never uploaded or stored.
